Status of the Business 40 Improvement Project and any other major highway improvement projects, both current and future, around the Winston-Salem area
Pat Ivey, P.E., NCDOT Division Engineer
• Originally from Reidsville, NC in Rockingham County. Graduated from NC State University in 1986 with a BS degree in Civil Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer.
• Began career with NCDOT in May of 1986 serving as Assistant District Engineer in Graham. Also served as District Engineer in Reidsville and Division Operations Engineer in Greensboro.
• Became the Division Engineer for Division 9, Winston-Salem in May of 2000. Responsible for the administration of all maintenance and construction programs in Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Rowan and Stokes Counties. Involved with the planning, design and administration of several high-profile projects in Division 9 such as the widening of I-85 in Davidson and Rowan Counties, Yadkin River Veterans’ Memorial Bridge, US 52 Improvements and Salem Creek Connector in Winston Salem and the Macy Grove Road interchange project in Kernersville. Currently overseeing the development of the Business 40 Improvement project and Northern Beltway in Winston-Salem.
• Resides in Kernersville, NC and is an active member/Elder of First Christian Church. Married to Linda Ivey, who is a second-grade teacher at Kernersville Elementary School. Two grown children: Stephen (27) and Meredith (25); with four (4) grandchildren.
